Formal offer of settlement presented to OPSEU CAAT-Academic Employees

We would like to welcome everyone back to campus and thank you for navigating start-up in these challenging times. While College staff and students were busy launching the term, the College management team and the OPSEU CAAT A bargaining team met to continue negotiations.

This month, the CEC is working with the Colleges to implement the new Part-Time Support Staff collective agreement. Additionally, we are continuing to bargain with the CAAT-A faculty, librarians and counsellors whose current agreement expires on September 30, 2021. Learn more below.

We are pleased to announce that College Part-Time Support Staff employees have voted in favour of ratifying a new collective agreement. Voting was conducted virtually this round and 89.4 per cent voted in favour of ratifying the new terms.

Over the course of the week, the management team met with OPSEU CAAT-A bargaining team to provide the Union with initial thoughts, ask questions to better understand the rationale behind CAAT-A’s proposed changes, offered counter-proposals, and requested additional bargaining dates to ensure adequate time to engage in meaningful discussion with the Union.
